Balochistan:
2,880 sq.km. area in Loralai, Mastung and Kalat districts.
AJK: 3,300 sq.km. area in Sudhuoli, Muzaffarabad, Kotli,
Bagh and Rawlakot districts.
Northern
Areas:
400 sq.km. area in Dassu District.
Punjab: 640 sq.km. area in Okara District.
Sindh: 640 sq.km. area in Dadu District.
NWFP: 350 sq. km. area in Dir and Swat districts.
Geological
map of bentonite-bearing zone in Dudial area, Mirpur District, AJK
has been prepared.

Final report
on geophyscial investigation for sulphide mineralization in Reshian,
Lamnian and Treri areas, AJK has been submitted to AKMIDC. Geophysical
investigations are continued in L-2 & L-3 areas of Quetta valley
for groundwater. Gravity and magnetic surveys have been carried
out in Jhelum, Gujrat and Sialkot areas to reconfirm some observation
points.
Detailed geophysical
survey (gravity & magnetic) has been done in Makki Dhoro area, Kalat
District, Balochistan for sulphide mineralization.
Report on Gujrat-Jhelum
has been submitted for publication.

of 9 bore holes (2,700metres) in Block- IV Geotechnical Studies. Geological
and geophysical logging. Chemical analyses Preparation of maps and

Drilling
of 9 holes has been completed to a cumulative depth of 2,427 metres.
Geotechnical studies, geological and geophysical logging of 9 bore
holes have been completed. 249 coal samples have been collected from
drill core for chemical analysis.Compilation work of the data collected
during 1999-2000 is in progress. Chemical analyses of 162 coal samples
for 3,290 estimations have been carried out. Compilation of maps and
report are in progress. |
