KARACHI – August 1, 2025 — In a high-level meeting held in Karachi on Friday, President Asif Ali Zardari and Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti focused on the pressing challenges and development roadmap for Pakistan’s largest but often-neglected province.
The closed-door session centered around two critical fronts: law and order, and economic uplift in Balochistan. CM Bugti briefed the president on the province’s internal security dynamics and updated him on various development schemes currently underway.
President Zardari, in response, pushed for more decisive action on public safety, urging provincial leadership to double down on efforts to stabilize the region. He also underlined the urgency of accelerating development projects that directly impact everyday life—healthcare, education, and infrastructure among them.
“The people of Balochistan deserve tangible results, not delays,” Zardari reportedly said, emphasizing that service delivery and the completion of essential projects must become top government priorities.
The meeting comes amid growing concerns over sporadic violence and slow progress in key areas of provincial development. For years, Balochistan has struggled with a mix of political marginalization, security instability, and lagging infrastructure—factors that continue to hinder its integration into the broader national growth agenda.
