The Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched the second round of applications for Hajj 2026, giving prospective pilgrims until Saturday, August 16, to register through its online portal or at designated banks.
This phase is open to both new applicants and those who missed the earlier round. For overseas Pakistanis, applications can be submitted locally by a close relative, though medical fitness certificates will still be required upon the pilgrim’s arrival in Pakistan.
Strong Response in First Phase
Officials say interest has been high. Over 71,000 applications were submitted during the first phase, which ran earlier this year, split between online submissions and in-person bank deposits.
New Quota Policy in Place
Under Pakistan’s revised Hajj policy, 70% of the country’s pilgrim quota will be allocated through the government scheme, with the remaining 30% handled by private tour operators. Pakistan’s overall quota is set at 179,210 pilgrims — 119,210 under the state-run program and 60,000 through private arrangements — though final numbers still await confirmation from Saudi authorities.
Applicants in this second phase will also need to make their initial payment toward expenses when submitting their forms.
