PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal, after a party meeting chaired by Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, demanded swift elections. He indirectly suggested that the PTI chairman should face consequences for alleged falsehoods, similar to the PML-N members who have faced legal charges.
Additionally, a special general council is scheduled for November 4 at Sharif Medical City to show solidarity with the Palestinian people. He announced that the party would accept candidate applications from November onwards for national and provincial assembly elections. Iqbal also called on the courts to dismiss what he referred to as ‘fake’ cases against Nawaz Sharif and proposed holding elections in the last week of January 2024.
