In a move aimed at boosting disaster response efforts, the Punjab Home Department has unveiled an online portal for citizens interested in volunteering with Civil Defense teams. The platform allows residents from across the province to formally register and contribute in their local districts.
Volunteers who wish to participate in relief operations—especially for families affected by recent floods—can now sign up easily. Registration is as simple as sending your name and preferred district to the dedicated WhatsApp number 0334-9990978.
Supporting Flood Relief Efforts
Punjab’s Home Secretary emphasized that this initiative comes under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, as the provincial government ramps up relief and rehabilitation measures for flood-hit communities. Civil Defense teams have been actively deployed in affected areas, working around the clock to provide assistance.
Highlighting the resilience of the Pakistani people, the Home Secretary noted that citizens have consistently come together in times of crisis, demonstrating solidarity and collective effort during natural disasters. The digital registration drive is expected to further strengthen this volunteer network, ensuring timely support reaches those in need.
