In the midst of the 2023 World Cup, Inzamam stepped down from his position today in response to allegations of his involvement in a player management organization. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated an inquiry into the accusations against Inzamam ul Haq, the former chief selector.
This development has surfaced at a time when the Pakistani cricket squad faces potential elimination from the World Cup in India, and the controversy surrounding the PCB extends to the revelation of private communication between captain Babar Azam and a high-ranking board member.
According to the PCB statement, “The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has established a five-member fact-finding committee to examine allegations of conflict of interest concerning the team selection process, as reported in the media.” The statement also stated, “The committee will promptly present its findings and any recommendations to PCB Management.”
